This festive tour begins with a leisurely 3-night stay in Filzmoos. From this home base, you will visit the Berchtesgaden Christmas Market, view the imposing Austrian Alps and browse the multiple markets in Salzburg in the pedestrian only square. If you find yourself in any way chilled, join your tour manager for an introduction and tasting of locally made Schnapps.

From Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, you will experience one of the more intimate Christmas Markets as well as the famed Swarovski Crystal shop which offers indoor shopping option with sparkling displays. Warm up with glühwein (mulled wine) and fire roasted chestnuts Germany’s oldest Christmas Markets.

Augsburg’s “Christkindlesmarkt” dates back to the 15th century and was initiated by the gingerbread makers so you will find many shapes and sizes of the delicious German gingerbread (Lebkuchen), Wohlfahrt’s Weihnachtsdorf is a Christmas shop offering beautiful decorations and gifts as well as whimsical holiday displays.

For breathtaking views of the Rhine River Valley, ride on the chair lift (€6 round trip) or simply stroll along the Drosselgasse, the lovely main shopping street. Your final opportunity to shop for your Christmas gifts and holiday decorations is Rüdesheim’s Christmas Market which exemplifies the authentic local atmosphere and seasonal entertainment that this tour promises to bring.
