Ready for Your European Tour? Here's How to Pack Like a Pro
Step 1: Suitcase Size Matters
First things first, make sure your suitcase fits within the requirements of both your tour company and the airlines. Tour companies often have stricter size limits because motor coaches have less storage space compared to airplanes.
Weight Limits and Smart Packing
The standard weight limit for checked baggage is 50 lbs, and 15 lbs for a carry-on. However, aim to pack your suitcase to around 40 lbs. This way, you’ll have extra space for souvenirs and mementos without worrying about exceeding the limit on your way back.
Watch Out for the Expand Feature
Many suitcases come with an ‘expand’ feature. When measuring your suitcase, account for this. If you measure without expanding it, keep it unexpanded during the tour. If everyone expands their luggage, there won’t be enough room on the bus for everyone’s bags!
Carry-On Bag: Know the Bus Rules
For your carry-on, understand the bus requirements. Unlike airlines, European motor coaches often don’t have overhead compartments. Your carry-on should fit under the seat in front of you. If it doesn’t, you might have to keep it on your lap throughout the tour.
Enjoy a Comfortable Ride
Adhering to these guidelines ensures a comfortable ride for you and your fellow travelers. Knowing and following the requirements will enhance your overall experience.
And Most Importantly, Bring Your Sense of Adventure!
Happy travels!
Taking a spare set of clothing in your carry on bag during on an international trip is of utmost importance, especially in the unfortunate event of lost luggage. Losing your luggage can be a major inconvenience, and it can disrupt your travel plans and overall experience.
