For this week we are going to take a breather from all the things you need to remember before the trip and focus on remembering the trip long after your vacation has ended.
The natural expectations of your friends and family, and yourself, will be the picture perfect “post-card” photo of the Eifel tower or some other famous landmark; and of course, a photo of yourself in front of that famous landmark. After doing so, here are a few photographs that will create a well-rounded photo album to help you remember your vacation.
If there is time, walk an extra block away from the landmark and explore the neighborhood around the corner. This is where you will find locals, not other tourists with a camera. Add authenticity to your photos by including landmarks off the beaten path, or signs with names and local prices written in the local language.
While taking scenic photos the best time is at dawn or dusk. If time permits take as many cityscapes, mountain, and landmark photos then. It will not always be possible, but if it is, snap away.
If you plan on buying more cards for your camera, buy 8GB or 16GB cards. Cards can go as high as 32GB and 64GB, and will hold more photographs, but you don’t want to lose your entire vacation because of one corrupt or lost card.
Photographs are an important part of remembering your vacation, but don’t forget to set the camera down and simply enjoy the scenery you have in front of you once in a while.
Taking a spare set of clothing in your carry on bag during on an international trip is of utmost importance, especially in the unfortunate event of lost luggage. Losing your luggage can be a major inconvenience, and it can disrupt your travel plans and overall experience.
